“The human desire of belonging to Mother Nature has been a leit motiv in the universal historical memory, and inspirational for the creation of musical, literary and visual works. From being an independent reality Nature has turned into an object, a Man’s product, a world imagined rather than concretely existing. But which is Man’s place in Nature these days?
In Barbara Dall’Angelo’s photography there is no human presence, being Nature the absolute protagonist of the visual field. The photographer’s eye impartially records whatever shows up in front of her, however the effort of creating a harmonious synthesis between the viewer and the object is evident.
The photos convey the love for the shapes and meanings that only Nature can create, and Man can contemplate.
Nonetheless today Man is responsible to restore a dialogue with Nature that goes beyond desire and admiration. It is time to remember that we were created by Nature, and not the other way around, and that our relationship with it must actively be founded on respect, gratitude and commitment to its survival.”

“Il desiderio umano di appartenenza a Madre Natura è da sempre tema ricorrente nella memoria storica universale, ed ha ispirato la creazione di opere musicali, letterarie, visive. Da realtà indipendente la natura si è trasformata in un oggetto, un prodotto dell’Uomo, un mondo immaginato più che effettivamente esistente. Ma qual è il posto dell’Uomo nella natura oggi?
Nelle fotografie di Barbara Dall’Angelo l’Uomo non c’è, e la natura è la padrona assoluta del campo visivo.
L’occhio della fotografa registra con imparzialità ciò che le si presenta davanti, eppure è innegabile il tentativo di ricostruire una sintesi armoniosa tra il soggetto che guarda e l’oggetto guardato.
Dalle immagini traspare l’amore per le molteplici forme e contenuti che solo la Natura è in grado di creare, e che l’Uomo può contemplare.
Eppure l’Uomo ha la responsabilità oggi di recuperare un dialogo con la Natura che va oltre il desiderio e l’ammirazione. E’ arrivato il momento di ricordarci che siamo noi oggetto della creazione della Natura, e non viceversa, e che il nostro rapporto con essa deve essere attivamente fondato sul rispetto, la gratitudine e l’impegno alla sua sopravvivenza.”
