STORY BEHIND THE SHOT This specimen of dead but still standing bristlecone pine is around 4.000 years old and it is located at 3.200mt altitude in the White Mountains of Inyo County in eastern California. This forest is known for having the oldest trees in the world. I wanted to capture this sculptural tree in a solemn context and I therefore chose to photograph it in a late starry night. My perseverance was rewarded when I had the chance to have a shooting star in one of my shots.
